UKEE HOTEL – PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT

Job Description

Parkshore Projects Ltd. is excited to offer a unique opportunity within the community of Ucluelet, Vancouver Island, BC to fulfill the required role of Project Superintendent. This project consists of 3 new construction hotel pods and an additional renovation of an existing Hotel. The project in October 2022 with an expected duration of 11 – 13 months and Parkshore Projects Ltd. will provide living accommodations if required.

Position summary:

The Project Superintendent coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining the highest quality, supervising all trade and field personnel, while administering good construction safety practices with all on-site activities and ensuring the safety and comfort of clients. Maintains the job site office and closes out projects. This position reports to the designated Project Manager.

Responsibilities:

- Coordinates and supervises all construction activities.

- Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.

- Maintains construction schedule, identifies and solves problems.

- Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the process.

- Understands the project plans, specifications, and company processes

- Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees.

- Prepares, schedules and supervises completion of a final deficiency list.

- Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately.

- Ensures all company employees and contractors are adhering to the company safety policy.

- Maintains an organized job site, including the construction office

- Resolves issues as they arise with clients, employees and sub-trades while maintaining positive working relationships.

Requirements:

- 5+ years of multi family construction experience

- Scheduling tools Microsoft Project or similar

- Construction management software * (Procore experience considered an asset)

- Understanding the BC Building Code

- Budget management

- Great leadership, conflict resolution and communication skills

- Journeyman level carpentry (Red seal considered an asset)
