PROJECT ACCOUNTANT

We are looking for an accountant who can provide our project team with accounting support and accurate financial information. This position will report to the Controller and manage all project bills and invoices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing project managers with timely financial reports
  • Issuing invoices, monitoring accounts receivable and supporting project managers with collections
  • Managing supplier bills, including reconciling vendor statements, and correcting discrepancies
  • Reviewing general ledger accounts and preparing and adjusting journal entries
  • Performing account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements and inter-company general ledger accounts
  • Assisting with initial internal control evaluations
  • Maintaining general ledger charts of accounts
  • Posting monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals
  • Paperwork organization/Filing
  • Maintenance of company internal records, customer/vendor accounts
  • Other various ad hoc duties as required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, or similar
  • 2-5 years' experience in accounting
  • Proficiency in ERP system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word with a willingness and ability to learn new programs and skills
  • Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for accuracy with numbers
  • Ability to efficiently prioritize competing tasks
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and as a team player
  • Flexible, organized, and a self-starter with a positive attitude
  • Experience in the construction industry considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service
